Join us as we appreciate some of the darkest skies in the U.S. through storytelling and telescope viewing.
Most people live in cities where light pollution has ruined the dark sky. Out here in the Davis Mountains, we still have some of the darkest skies around. Join us as we point out planets and constellations in view. We'll also share stories about their origin culled from various cultures. Chairs are NOT provided. Please bring one if needed.
Meet: at the far end of Skyline Drive by the CCC Rock Lookout (or Interpretive Center if sky is too cloudy or raining)
Bring: chair, flashlight (preferably red light), binoculars, dog-friendly
Cost: free for campers or day users w/ permit - daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass
